What type of effects do natural disasters have on a country’s economy?

Natural Disasters has caused local businesses to close down because no one was able to buy from that store and also from there not meeting the needs of the people. For example, there was a lot of hotel that had to run off of generators for almost a week because there was no electricity during the most recent hurricane, Hurricane Irene in North Carolina. The government had to spend a lot of money trying to remove trees that had fallen on power lines causing the power outages. Fema also offered free food, housing, and showers to the people without electricity and also people who spent money on staying other places because their power wasn’t on. The following article explains the Hurricane that had terrible effects on the economy and peoples lives.
